Self-defense is a tricky area of the law, even if you lawfully defend yourself, you can still get charged with a crime if you seriously injure someone who was just picking your pocket or an unarmed mugging.

Thank you for providing us with this great articles. I read it and enjoyed it completely. The sad thing is, the victims can be charged these days.

I was once told by a police officer, that if someone was to break into my house and I shot them, that I should make sure they were dead. He said otherwise, they will more than likely come back and sue you for damages. It's sad to think that someone can break into your house at night, attempt to rob you and then when they get shot doing it, can come back and take you to court of their pain and suffering.
