What is the deal with social security? I have been listening to to whole debate that has been going on between these polictians and it seems as if they are all for the cut of social security. No one is talking about the replacement of social security so what are we suppose to do?I don't understand why it seems as if every time we turn around people are cutting our security.

Well social security would not be such a problem if we did not give out millions upon millions to people doing no work at all and illegal aliens. If we cut some of that back then social security would be doing better.

I know it seems like no one has any long term plans to really save Social Security. It is going to be a big problem soon.

It is a tough problem to tackle. The solutions are not cut out as easy as it may often seem. I think we just need to limit the number of people that we put in it. Hint no illegals. Then cut back on other spending and put mroe funding in.

We should do away with all social security within a generation by deregulating the market, opening up our markets to free trade- therefore lowering our costs and allowing our people to have more of their own money. Then we should encourage all of the population to invest ON THEIR OWN. If they can not figure out to do that then they deserve what they get. By having them invest their own money, more of it is there for them to use how they want it to be used and when they need it, and our economy grows due to investments in banks.

I've been wondering what we are going to do if they do cut social security. Something has to be done. When it's time for us to retire and there is no social security, then there are going to be a whole lot of homeless people out there. There are many people who just cannot invest on their own. The price of gas has gone up, so now everything else has gone up with it. It has become pretty hard to make ends meet, even with two people working as well as paying for daycare. When it comes to illegal aliens, they seem to get help as soon as they come into this country. We as Americans are turned away when we truly need a little bit of help. Yep, your tax dollars at work.

The price of gas has gone up and the amount of wages we get is going up. If social security is done away with we get to keep more of our income. Look at your pay checks and you will notice that they take out so much each week. If you keep that money instead of the government taking it, then you have more money for your own investment and if you have common sense, there is no homelessness.

The only reason Socal Security exists is because people are to stupid to manage their own money. I can very easily take money out of my pay checks and set it aside to retire on. The government should not be involved in this.

The trillions of dollars which the occupation of Iraq will cost could have fixed the social security problem.
