Hi
I ve been raped in December, and the trial is now, in September. Now I am more terrified of the trial rather than of the rape itself. I want that bastard behind bars for couple of years, but I m afraid I‘ll fail. If there is anybody who went to the trial here, can you please give me an advice? How shoudl I act there? What should I say? What shouldn‘t I say? etc

I am truely sorry to hear about your ordeal, and luckily have never been through that sort of trama myself.

The only advice that I can give is to be honest when your on the stand and make sure the jury knows how this event has affected your life. Then hope that the jury is made up of sensible people and not just ones that couldn't get out of jury duty.

Just curious though, do you have a pretty good case against this pervert? Any physical evidence?

Good luck and we'll be praying for you.

Sorry to hear that adriana. JustaMom is right, you have to be honest and and talk straight. Don't be nervous so that jury will really believe of what you're talking. Also, you should have to talk straight. If you had a mark evidence it would be much advantageous.

Rape cases are very difficult cases as I've heard. Its hard to sow the proofs on such cases.
I am very sorry to heard that Adriana, I will play for you.

Sorry you are going through this. I was raped three years ago and elected to not go to court for this reason. You are a stronger woman than me.

That must be very hard...I would imagine it would be very difficult to be in the same room with the guy to stand trial against him. But congrats on being brave enough to do so. I hope all goes well for you.

I'm sorry that you have had such a hard time and I can totaly understand, but I disaprove with nhel, if you speak straight forward and not hesitate or stutter, they will think you are making it up, anybody who has lived a traumatic experience like yours will hesitate and stutter it's jut natural even crying could boost the jury.I know from experience, appearences are very important.

Going to court about it is better than saying nothing and letting the rapist get away with sexually assaulting you. By doing that you just get him in the mindset that he can do whatever with whoever and somebody else might fall victim to his sexual prowess.

I know that at least 3 of my friends had been raped. All of the them were too scared to go to the police and of course just wanted to block out the whole ordeal. It makes me wonder just how often this happens and goes without punishment for the offender, but the victim carries it with them for the rest of their lives.

That makes no sense. Your friends must of been stupid or something to refuse to go to court abouut it. So they must be hiding something about the rape or missing a nut in their brain.

The first thing that you need to realize is that you are a strong person to even have gotten this far. Draw on that strength. Take deep breaths, tell the truth and allow your fear to show but to not conquer you. Don't allow your rapist to hurt you any further. This is about justice and letting you set the record straight. Don't let the threat of fear stop you from doing what is right! Embrace your fear and let it be an ally!
