I am into internet marketing and I buy and sell domain names. Once I paid one guy in a forum for a domain. He accepted the domain but didn't sent me the money. Later when I researched a bit, I found that the domain which I were going to buy was not his domain. That was a very bad experience.

have you ever been scammed in Internet?

Unfortunately yes. I work online and usually get paid without trouble. However, for one guy I did all the work and then never got paid. I later found out he did this to others as well.

Those are two awful stories. I have not yet been scammed, and I hope I never do. It must take a lot of trust away from you.

Michelle,

Sadly, scams of this sort are all too common. Though too late to help your particular case, as a rule of thumb, legitimate lenders will never require you to pay a fee to guarantee a loan. They may require vehicles, property, etc. to be used as collateral against a loan, but you should never be asked to make a payment in order to secure a loan.

If you had made the payment with a credit card, you would have been able to file a chargeback with the credit card company for fraud.

Good Luck

I haven't been scammed yet but I've been close. I use to sell stuff on eBay and when ever I sold electronics I would get tons or email about closing the bidding and selling the item outside, or without the help of eBay. The majority of the buyers made ridiculous offers, like $400 for a 6 mega pixels camera. They also wanted to pay by check and they wanted me to send the items overseas. Once I heard check and Nigeria, I knew it was a scam. Now I only do transactions by credit card (cash- only when the person lives around my town and he/she picks up) and I never ship overseas.

Yes!!! just last week. I was checking my online banking and I found a charge for $255 from emusic.com. Turns out I was searching some music lyrics in the internet and a pop up came up and somehow I got hacked. I called my bank immediately and they helped me file a dispute and got my money back.. Watch out for emusic.com!!!!
